FBU Central Valley (“we,” “us”) runs youth football tryouts, teams, and events in the Central Valley as an affiliate of Football University. Parents trust us with information about their children, and we treat that as the responsibility it is. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we do with it. Questions any time: centralvalleyfbu@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
Registration. When a parent or legal guardian registers an athlete we collect the athlete’s name, date of birth, grade, and position; the parent’s name, relationship, email, and phone; an emergency contact’s name, phone, and relationship; and the electronic signature on our participation waiver, together with the signer’s date of birth, the date and time of signing, and the IP address and browser used — that audit trail is what makes the signature verifiable.
Interest lists and newsletter. If you join the 10u interest list or our email list, we collect your email address and, for the 10u list, your athlete’s grade or age group.
Parent portal. The portal uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a single-use link and code, and we store only cryptographic hashes of them — never a password. Signing in sets a session cookie. The portal holds your family’s program records: rosters, schedules, coach evaluations, signed documents, and billing history.
Payments. All payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe’s systems and never touch our servers. We keep the amount, date, payment status, and a reference to the Stripe transaction for our records and yours.
Site analytics. We run our own first-party analytics: pages viewed, buttons clicked, screen size, browser language, and time zone, tied to a random identifier stored in your browser. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, we do not build profiles across other websites, and analytics paths inside the portal are anonymized so they can never identify a specific athlete.
2. How we use it
- Running the program: registrations, rosters, schedules, evaluations, and events.
- Safety: emergency contact information is used only if something happens at an event.
- Communication: confirmations, receipts, sign-in links, and program updates. Newsletter email goes only to people who opted in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
- Payments, refunds, and accounting.
- Improving the site, using the first-party analytics described above.
3. What we share — and what we never do
We never sell personal information, and we never share it with advertisers. We share it only with the services that make the program work: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and our hosting infrastructure. Coaches and program staff see the athlete information they need to run tryouts and teams. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
4. Children’s privacy
Our programs are for youth athletes, but our website and portal are for their parents and guardians. Registration and portal accounts must be completed by an adult (18+). All information about an athlete is provided to us by their parent or legal guardian — we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian can review, correct, or ask us to delete their athlete’s information at any time by emailing centralvalleyfbu@gmail.com.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to the parent portal, and browser storage for preferences (like your theme and selected athlete) and the first-party analytics identifier. There are no third-party advertising cookies on this site.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep registration, waiver, and payment records for as long as we need them for legal, safety, and accounting purposes. Everything else we delete on request — email us and we’ll confirm what we can remove and when.
7. Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you or your athlete, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we extend them to everyone. We’ll respond to requests at centralvalleyfbu@gmail.com within 30 days.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, email registered families.
